Process Engineer

Location - Huntingdon

Purpose of Role:

To form, maintain and uphold an even and stable output from a single/or a group of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications and experience

Engineering Degree

2 5 years experience of Manufacturing/Engineering work

Working knowledge of problem solving techniques eg (6 Sigma)

Data analysis skills - experience of Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Experience of either Wet Plating, Parylene Coating or Wirebonding

Key Accountabilities:

Process Improvement

Process changes logged (in line with Engineering Change process)

Creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP s), instructions, training material and other documentation

Continuous improvement culture delivering increased yields, lower cycle times and reduced costs on manufacturing line

Production Manager/Operators trained in new processes

Data Analysis

Interpretation of Statistical Process Control data to support process improvement

Contribute to Product Development Cycle

Participation in product design projects to ensure design meets design for manufacture requirements

Design & development of manufacturing process equipment

Manufacturing process equipment meets production needs specification of requirements, managing of cell build with vendor, commissioning and sign-off of equipment prior to handover to production.



Key Internal Relationships:

Production Operators, Production Managers, Operations Manager, Group Manufacturing Engineering Manager, R&D Engineering.

Key Challenges:

Getting to grips with company technology, Working with processes where tolerances/size are much tighter than within a typical manufacturing environment
