Principal Mechanical Engineer. The client is looking for an experienced and talented mechanical engineer to solve complex problems by utilising strong design and development skills. They need candidates with innovation and ingenuity to help develop unique enabling technologies for a variety of bioscience applications.The company have a wide range of bioscience products & require the new principal engineer to solve engineering challenges - critical to realising the bioscience requirement. The RoleWhilst your prime aim is to provide engineering excellence, the key components of the role are:• Understanding customer requirements: You will work closely with potential customers and the company’s business development team to define their needs for a particular system development. • Developing potential solutions: You will develop conceptual solutions to meet customer needs whilst working closely with key stakeholders.• Leading small multi-disciplinary teams: You will lead from the front, working within quality, time and cost targets.• Installing and commissioning: You will have the opportunity to follow through all the way from initial design to the final commission on site.You will have proven extensive experience in a project led engineering design environment, coupled with at least a 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering, with a strong mechanical bias.You can easily draw on your experience of conceptualising, developing and commercialising complex systems or scientific instruments for low-medium volume manufacture containing hardware, electronics and software.You understand robotics, materials handling, mechanisms and ideally plastic moulded components.In addition, you’re commercially astute, a good team player and an effective leader
